- The problem: the modem does not have any COM port both in DOS & Win31.
-
- I have the following system:
-
- internal SupraEpress288 PnP modem
-
- Intel Advanced/EV motherboard, Pentium 150, 256KB pipeline burst cache, AMI
- PnP BIOS version 1.00.04.CB0, integrated 2 COM, 1 LPT, 1 game, 2 IDE ports,
- SB Vibra soundcard, 32 MB EDO RAM.
-
- Adaptec PCI 2940 UW SCSI adapter, BIOS 1.21
-
- Matrox Millennium PCI graphics adapter, 2MB WRAM
-
- DOS 6.22/WfW 3.11
-
- I installed from modem installation disk Intel DOS/Windows Configuration
- Manger (dwcfgmg.sys, 2 .386 VxDs).
-
- I tried to disable everything: COM, LPT, IDE, Sound, change BIOS
- configuration mode, etc. but in vain.
- I added IDE hard drive, installed on it Win95. Win 95 without any problems
- automatically detected the modem and assigned IRQ and I/O to it.
-
- How can I use the modem in DOS/Win31? What about NT 3.51/Linux ?
